Amazon Australia has revealed its top 100 holiday toys with the launch of the Amazon Playmakers Holiday Toy catalogue. The catalogue features this year’s hottest toys, games and crafts, reviewed and tested by the Amazon Playmakers, the company’s official toy testers.

Kids in hospitals across the country played a role in helping review this year’s top toys, sharing their thoughts to help Australians with their holiday shopping for the little ones and give back to the Starlight Children’s Foundation (Starlight) in the process.

For every toy purchased from the Amazon.com.au Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales (29 November – December 2) that is featured in the Playmakers catalogue, Amazon Australia will donate $5 to Starlight, in addition to $40,000 of toys, games and crafts that will be donated to Starlight Express Rooms – which are available in every children’s hospital nationwide.

Matt Furlong, Country Manager of Amazon.com.au, said, “We’re excited to reveal the top 100 holiday toy list, with help from our official toy testers this year, the Amazon Playmakers. Our Playmakers have tested and reviewed the toys within the catalogue, giving their expert opinions to help all the mums, dads, grannies, grandads, aunts and uncles across the country determine the best gifts to get their little ones this holiday season.”

“With Starlight, we have been humbled to be able to deliver smiles to kids in hospitals around Australia through the Amazon Playmakers program. Australians can also get involved and show their support because for every toy purchased from the catalogue during the Amazon.com.au Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, Amazon will donate $5 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation,” Furlong continued.

Louise Baxter, Chief Executive Officer of Starlight added, “At Starlight we know happiness matters to a sick child’s development and the work we do to support them in children’s hospitals nationally is only made possible through the community who we rely on for support. Every dollar makes a lasting difference, and the donations from Amazon’s toy catalogue will allow us to continue to deliver happiness to sick kids in hospital each and every day.”

Amazon Playmaker ambassador and Australian media personality, Johnny Ruffo, who made the first special delivery of toys to children in Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick said it was an honour to be part of the initiative.

“I’ve had such a fun and heartwarming time getting to know the Amazon Playmakers and I hope Australians can share the love by buying the recommended toys for their loved ones and in turn, giving back to Starlight. There is such an awesome selection of toys for kids of all ages, so there really should be something for everyone!”
